A classic green-and-cream striped rugby jersey inspired by Rhodesia's sporting history.
Our first release features heavyweight cotton and embroidered details drawn from historical designs.
The broad green-and-cream horizontal stripes echo the colors associated with Rhodesian rugby and the country's historic green-and-white identity. The softer cream, rather than bright white, gives the jersey a classic, vintage appearance.
The stripes continue across the sleeves. A heavyweight matching cream-colored cotton twill collar, concealed two-button placket, white rubber buttons, ribbed cotton cuffs, and reinforced side splits complete the classic rugby look.
The historic Rhodesian Rugby logo depicts a lion holding an elephant tusk, framed by the words “Rhodesian Rugby.”
Recreated in detailed gold embroidery, the emblem sits on the left chest, positioned within the creamy-white stripe. Its distinctive lion-and-tusk design reflects the sporting history that inspired the jersey.
The right sleeve features Rhodesia's historic green-white-green national flag, with the country's coat of arms at its center.
Reproduced as a detailed woven patch with a black stitched border, the flag is sewn directly onto the sleeve rather than heat-applied.
02 / Our Story
Rhodesian Heritage Apparel began with a simple frustration: Finding clothing that faithfully reflected Rhodesia's past was surprisingly difficult.
Much of the clothing and distinctive imagery of that era is now more commonly encountered in historical photographs and surviving garments than in clothing available to buy today. I wanted to see those designs represented in clothing that people could actually own and wear.
Rather than continue searching for what wasn't available, I decided to create it, using these historical references to bring the designs back to life.
I founded Rhodesian Heritage Apparel with an emphasis on staying true to the original designs, from the colors and emblems to the materials and finishing details.
We're beginning with a traditional Rhodesian rugby jersey, with plans to expand into caps, jackets, T-shirts, and other apparel.
